Uecker-Witt Funeral HomeGerald “Jerry” Robert Hilbert, 81, of Fond du Lac, died on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at his residence with family by his side. He was born on August 16, 1944, in Fond du Lac, the son of Raymond and Marjorie (Jorgenson) Hilbert. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. On July 9, 1966, he married the love of his life, Nancy Harris at First Presbyterian Church in Fond du Lac. Jerry was the owner and operator of Hilbert’s Appliance Repair. He was an outdoors enthusiast who loved deer hunting, pheasant hunting, fishing on Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago, and enjoyed sharing those times with his family and friends. Jerry was a Wisconsin Sports fan who greatly enjoyed watching the games and listening to the post game shows. He was a handyman who took great pride in helping everyone with their projects. His greatest love was for his family, especially being a father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two children, Timothy (Donna) Hilbert and Amy (Scott) Sabel; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Gabby) Hilbert, Ryan (Adrea) Hilbert, Emily (Seth) Lulloff, Abigail (Marcus) Senn, Alyssa Sabel, Byron Sabel, and Logan Sabel; six great grandchildren, Cameron, Hazel, Luka, Hudson, Beckham, and McKenna Senn (on the way); two brothers, Kenneth (Tina) and Eugene (Kathy) Hilbert; two sisters-in-law, Cathy (David) Want and Patty (Ron) Henos; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hilbert; mother, Marjorie Jorgenson Hilbert Mannenbach Balthazor Baker; son, Kevin Hilbert; and sister-in-law, Marilyn (John) Goode.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Fond du Lac. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Fellowship time will follow the service at church. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to extend a thank you to SSM Hospice for their care and compassion for Gerald.
