Gerald R (Gary) Nelson, Sr 83 of Jupiter, FL passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 12. 2025 at home. He was born February 27, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, PA the son of the late Lawrence and Blanche Stahl Nelson. He was a member of the Mt Pleasant VFW, and the Jupiter-Tequesta Church of Christ, Tequesta, FL. Gary was employed by JR Woods Dairy Farm, Mt Pleasant, PA, Potoka's Towing, Mt. Pleasant, PA, & Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority WPB, FL as a truck mechanic until he retired in 2004. He enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, volleyball and watching the Steelers, Pirates and Penn State games on TV. Gary is survived by his wife of 65 years Brenda Ulery Nelson. Four sons Gerald Ray Nelson, Jr of Mt Pleasant, PA, Mark Nelson of Jupiter FL, Dale Nelson (Bonnie) of Hampton, VA, Rick Nelson (Bruce Dory) of Lehigh Acres, FL, Sister Helen Keslar of Acme, PA. Sisters- in-law Maryann Nelson of Youngstown, OH, Jane Zimmerman of Connellsville, PA, Grandchildren Nancy Matheny, John May, Scott May, Henry Barry Brown, Elana Miller, Elliot Dory. Great Grandchildren Mikaila May, Carisma Carlson, Layla May. William Corum, Jr, Jackson May, Jacob Matheny, Christopher Matheny, Noah Brown, Jack Mudd, Blake Brown, Caroline Miller, Carter Miller, Wesley Dory, Warren Dory. Great-Great Grandchildren Opal Matheny, Amelia Dory and many Nieces and Nephews. Gary was preceded in death by an infant son Brian Nelson, Grandchildren Sean Nelson, Danielle Nelson, Daughter-in-law Laura Nelson, Brothers Eugene Nelson, Sr, Lawrence Dean Nelson, Sisters and Brothers-in-law Sally Sirianni (Dominic), Dolores King (Francis), Norma Keslar (Robert), Charles Keslar, Sr, Sister-in-law Alma Jean Nelson.

It was Gary's wish not to have a service. A private burial service will be planned at a later date in PA.
