Geraldine M. Davidson

Geraldine M. Davidson, age 96, died peacefully on May 25, 2023, after a short period of declining health.
Jerry was born in 1926, daughter of the late Anthony G. Flynn and Ada (Williams) Flynn, and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1944. She met a young man named Milton at a Youth Group meeting at the Central Methodist Church in Brockton before he went off to Europe at age 21 to serve his country. The "text messaging" of the day was writing, and writing letters is what Jerry and Milton did to keep in touch. After graduation, Jerry signed up to become a US Cadet Nurse while attending Brockton School of Nursing and after graduation would become a maternity nurse at Brockton Hospital. Jerry and Milton married on October 16, 1948, in Brockton and then moved to East Bridgewater.
She loved being a nurse! She continued to work at Brockton Hospital till the early 70's and then was a substitute nurse for East Bridgewater schools. As a young mom and former Girl Scout herself, Jerry was a Girl Scout leader and active at her beloved East Bridgewater United Methodist Church. After Milton retired from the Brockton Savings Bank, the highlight of each year was packing up the car and heading to their home in Dennis Port for the summer and then driving to Florida for the winter months. They loved spending long summer days at the beach, boating, and entertaining friends and family.
A spry 96-year-old who attributed her longevity to having a great family and always being able to do the things she loved; reading, knitting, crossword puzzles and playing scrabble with all her family. She traveled to Italy, Ireland, and England with her daughters after Milton died in 2000 and traveled to her cape home for the summers.
Jerry was the loving wife of the late Milton H. Davidson and mother of Rebecca L. Barton and her husband Wayne of New Hampshire, Jane E. Sprunk and her husband Richard of East Bridgewater, and Tony Davidson and his wife Deborah of New Hampshire. Proud "Gram" of Daryl, Erin, Michael, Jared, Katarina, Chelsea, and Tyler and "Great Gram" of nine.
All are cordially invited to the Chapman Funerals and Cremation, 35 Spring St. East Bridgewater on Wed. May 31 for a visitation period from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. A funeral service will be held at East Bridgewater United Methodist Church, 54 North Central St., East Bridgewater at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Brockton Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, 53 Adams St, Brockton, MA 02302.
