GISELA ANNELIESA BUTORAC
On the morning of July 23, 2023, Gisela Anneliesa Butorac passed away peacefully, into her Heavenly home. She was 95. Born in Gumbinnen, Prussia/East Germany, on April 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Maria (Pusch) Lojewski.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Butorac; daughter-in-law, Ellen Butorac; and sister, Ilse-Lore Belhartz. Cherishing her memory always are those who survive; daughters, Gabrielle (Zjelko) Leko of Santa Clarita, California, Anne Marie (Jim) Anderson of Louisville, Ohio; son, Thomas Butorac of Copley, Ohio; and grandchildren, Zvonko (Olivia) Leko, Tony Leko, Justin and Annalesa Anderson, Kevin and Scott Butorac.
Gisela has been a Canton resident since 1953. Together with her husband, they raised their children in a loving and faith-filled home. She was a member and past president of the St Paul Altar Rosary Society in Canton, teaching CCD classes and serving as the organist. She was a former member of the Columbianas, serving as past president of the Women's Guild of Knights of Columbus.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Friday, July 28, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, St. Louis Catholic Church, 300 N. Chapel Street, Louisville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM. Father Matt Humerickhouse will preside. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Canton.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or St. Joseph Senior Living.
