A storyteller and prankster, Glen Houston Curfman peacefully passed away at home on Friday, March 22, 2024. Glen spent his final hours at home on his farm, "One Shot Farm", surrounded by family, laughter and tears.
Born June 24, 1949, in Greene County, Pennsylvania, Glen graduated from Waynesburg High School, where he was a proud member of the "Spraggtown Manglers."
He next relocated to Marshall County, West Virginia, where he lived out his the remainder of his life.
A coal miner by trade, Glen was dedicated to the profession, especially to the safety of his men. Whether it was sitting in his garage, talking on the phone, or reminiscing about Colorado hunting stories, if you had the opportunity to talk to Dad, you forever had a "Glennie story."
A proud father and husband, Glen loved time with his family. He was often quoted, "we do not have a family tree, we are a forest." Married for 29 years, Glen leaves behind his wife, Diana Combs Curfman and the following children: Doug and Rachelle Curfman, Lori and Matt Miller, Angela and her fiancé, Craig Heryford, Jennifer Crowe, and Jeff and Amber Crowe. Grandchildren include Cole Curfman, Victoria Curfman, Wyatt and Alexa Setterstrom, Logan Setterstrom, Lane Icard, Emmerson Icard, Sophie Shia, and Chase Crowe, "soon-to-be here" great-granddaughter, Averie Grace Setterstrom, and his beloved beagle, Buddy. Glen's brothers include Ronnie, Randy, Brent, Todd, Troy and his mom, Helen.
To greet and embrace her Pappy in heaven, Glen now joins his great-granddaughter Natalie Claire Setterstrom.
Family will received friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am with Dave Fox officiating.
Interment in Macedonia Cemetery.

Thank you so much Diana for calling me today. I am in shock that Glennie is gone. I am so glad I had left a message for you all to call me. We always had a good time when we were together. Always laughing and getting caught up in each other's lives until we would see each other again. I really wish I had called earlier and maybe we could have had a visit or two. We will see each other again in Heaven. God Bless your family and friends until we are all together again.
