Glenn Curtis Cockerline, 68, of Somerset passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 with his
family by his side.
Born on June 12, 1956 in Rahway, NJ, Glenn graduated from Colonia High School in 1974 where he was a member of the track and cross country teams. Glenn worked at United Parcel Service while attending Rutgers University. Glenn's early years were marked by his enjoymentof sports; especially football, baseball, basketball, weight lifting and softball.
Glenn worked at Smith Motors in Elizabeth, NJ as a painter in their auto body shop. He also worked at jobs in the roofing, siding and HVAC industries.
Glenn liked to go to NY Yankees baseball games and rock concerts. He found joy in the great outdoors; family camping trips, trout fishing and cycling.
Glenn is predeceased by his parents, Roger and Patricia Cockerline and his brother, Mark Cockerline.
Surviving are his siblings: Dean Cockerline, and his wife Carol, of Phillipsburg; Dorothy Seifert, and her husband Carl, of Martinsville; Deborah Kvarta, and her husband Joseph, of Ewing, Janet Lynch, and her husband John, of Forest Hill, MD, his sister-in-law, Virginia Cockerline of Cranford and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27) Metuchen, NJ. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 9:00am. A prayer service will start at 9:30am followed by an interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
