Gonzalo Cavazos Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Gonzalo Cavazos, at the age of 50, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in Plainview. Family and friends are invited for a viewing and visitation from 9:00am-12:00pm on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Harvest Christian Fellowship Church. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Gonzalo was born in McAllen, Texas on January 6, 1975, to Manuel Cavazos and Sara (Diaz) Cavazos. Gonzalo was known for saying "no soy de aqui ni soy de alla," lyrics from one of his favorite rappers Akwid, because he traveled throughout his life and lived in different states to work until making Plainview his home in 2011. In 2012 he met the love of his life, Guadalupe Sifuentes, "Lupita," as he liked to call her, and they shared 13 years of love together.

Gonzalo was a collector of many things, watches, clocks, toy cars, colognes, and movies, to name a few. He loved to watch horror movies, listen to rap music, and sing.

He was a man that loved and cared deeply. He was kind and giving, doing anything he could to help his parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. He meant so much to his family and he will be missed.

Gonzalo's legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by those left to cherish his memory; the love of his life, his wife, Lupita Sifuentes of Plainview; one son, Adrian Najera; two daughters, Ashley Lopez, and Myda Garcia (Kyle), all of Plainview; his parents, Manuel and Sara Cavazos; three brothers, Victor Cavazos of Missouri, Hector Cavazos (Arlene) of McAllen, and Rudy Cavazos (Janera) of Missouri; and one sister, Alma Del Toro (Mario Alberto) of Missouri; and eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Edgar Cavazos.
