On Saturday, October 28, 2023 Gordon L. Walmsley went home to be with the Lord. He was 73.

Gordon was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on February 3, 1950, to the late William and Winifred Walmsley.

Gordon joined the Merchant Marines after high school and honorably served our country during Vietnam. Once he came back home he joined the New York Hospital Police Department (N.Y.H.P.D.) and served for 36 years, retiring as a Seargent in 2006. During that time he served as a Shop Steward for the Teamsters Local 237, and was a member of the F.O.P.

He was a member of the N.R.A. and faithfully donated blood to help his community.

Gordon enjoyed traveling and smoking a good cigar, but he was happiest spending time with his family.

Gordon was preceded in death by his son, Troy Walmsley, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet Walmsley, his children, Gordon Walmsley, Jr. and his wife Ericka, William Walmsley, Pamela Saunders and her husband Michael, Krystal Walmsley, and Amber Walmsley, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
