Today to honor the life of Hannah McKenzie DeVoe, a vibrant young woman whose spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on April 11, 2001, in Gainesville, FL, Hannah was a true country girl at heart. She spent her days laughing with friends, riding horses, fishing, hunting, and enjoying dirt road rides through the beautiful landscapes that surrounded her.
Hannah graduated from Bradford County High School in 2020, where her outgoing personality shone bright and earned her a tight-knit friend group that adored her. In May, she celebrated another milestone by graduating with her AA from Bladenboro College, proud of her achievements and ready to create new memories. Amidst her studies, she worked as a waitress, displaying her kindness and warmth with each customer that came through the door.
Sadly, Hannah left us too soon on August 31, 2025, in North Carolina. Her laughter and adventurous spirit will be missed more than words can say, but she leaves behind many cherished memories with her loving family. She is survived by her mother, Pam Callen; brothers, Hunter and Hayden; her grandparents, Brenda Tew, Diane Callan, and Denton (Luanne) DeVoe; her beloved boyfriend, Chance Melvin; as well as her aunts and uncles Tracy DeVoe, and Jeremy (Melissa) Brown. Hannah’s cousins, Trevor Bechtel, Nevaeh Hunt, Lane Brown, Justin Brown, Austin Williams, Logan Williams, and Skylar Williams will also carry her memory in their hearts. And let's not forget her furry companion, Shug, who was always right by her side.
Hannah was predeceased by her father, Denton E. DeVoe, II.
A visitation for Hannah will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Bayless Highway Baptist Church, located at 11798 NW County Rd 225 in Starke, FL, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00pm with Pastor Mike Conner officiating. She will be laid to rest by her father at Crosby Lake Cemetery immediately following the service. We encourage everyone whose life she touched to come and share in celebrating her beautiful spirit.
