Hummels Wharf - Harold E. Metzger, Sr., 93 a former resident of Ridge Road, Northumberland passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved wife by his side on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Harold was born June 10, 1931 in Montgomery a son of the late Donald F. and Josephine (Harman) Metzger. On January 10, 1951 he married the former Ruth M. Tressler who survives. He was a graduate of Turbotville High School. He retired as a pipefitter from Merck & Co. after many years of dedicated service. Mr. Metzger was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Point Township. Harold enjoyed traveling, especially to his two favorite destinations: Branson, Missouri and Great Smoky Mountains. He had a great love for country & western music, meeting many of his favorite singers over the years. In addition to his wife of 73 years, Harold is survived by; his daughter-in-law Janet L. Metzger of Northumberland, his grandson (and wife), Richard A. and Diana M. Metzger of Selinsgrove, two great grandchildren, Kinsey P. and Evan R. Metzger, one brother and sister-in-law, George and Linda Metzger of Montgomery, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Doris and Ray Snyder of FL and Charlotte Sones of Muncy Valley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by; his son, Harold E. Metzger, Jr, two brothers, Donald and Carl Metzger and sister, Phyllis Millheim. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland
