Harold Terry Snider

Lima, OH Harold Terry Snider, age 77, passed away on August 30, 2025, at 9:44 am, in the Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center E.D. Harold was born on May 4, 1948, in Lima, OH, to the late Harold and Betty (Hefner) Snider. On December 23, 1967, he married Gloria J. (Contos) Snider who survives in Lima. In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by his son, John P. Snider of Lima, OH, his grandchildren: Elizabeth Mason, Khrystal Mason, David Mason and Thomas Otis Contos Snider Jr., a sister, Judi (Ron) Morrison of Cairo, OH, sisters in-law: Pat Snider of Lima, OH, Rita Snider of Bluffton, IN, Sharron Snider of Lima, OH and Carol Snider of Lima, OH. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Aline Contos Mason, his son, Thomas Otis Contos Snider Sr., brothers: Robert Snider, Richard Snider, Larry Snider and John Snider. Harold was a 1967 graduate of Elida High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. After serving during the Vietnam War. Harold had worked for more than 20 years as a machinist with Warner Swasey until they closed. At the end of his career he had been working for Copeland in Sidney, OH retiring in 2013. Harold was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church in Elida. Harold will remembered for his love of sitting and watching football. There will be a funeral service held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Tom Cooper. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery following the service where military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force and the VFW 1275. Friends may visit on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran's Food Pantry.
