Harry Shriver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel - Covington on Dec. 29, 2025.
Mr. Harry Donald "Buck" Shriver, Jr., age 84, of Covington, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. Born on May 17, 1941, in Altavista, Virginia, Buck was the beloved son of the late Harry, Sr. "Pop" and Corinne Shriver. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Roberts.

Buck grew up in Danville, Virginia, where following his graduation from high school he joined the National Guard. Being a native Virginian, he developed a lifelong passion for Virginia Tech Football, proudly supporting the Hokies through the years. After completing his education, he embarked on a successful career as a salesman with Siemens Corporation, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Faith was a cornerstone of Buck's life. He was a former member of The First Baptist Church of Snellville and, in recent years, found fellowship at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Snellville. His commitment to his church communities was evident in his participation and the friendships he cherished there.

Buck's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Shriver; his sons, Kristian Shriver (Susann) and Patrick Shriver; his adored grandchildren, Noah, Mitchell, Corinne, Sarah, and Reyna; his sister, Harriett Adkins; and his brother, Ralph Shriver. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends, all of whom will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and unwavering support.

Buck will be remembered for his kind spirit, his love of family, his devotion to his faith, and his enduring loyalty to his friends and community. His legacy of integrity, generosity, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Buck's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
