Helen (Zguro) Magni, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 6, 2023. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. & Olimbia (Lazarou) Zguro.
A graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield, Helen worked for many years at Steigers department store until its closing. She then worked as a paraprofessional for the Springfield Public Schools.
She was an auxiliary member of the Adriatic Club and a member of the Marconi Club both of Springfield; and an avid babysitter for all of her grand-dogs.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, George L. Magni, brother, Christy Zguro & wife Beth, sisters, Kathrine Zguro, and Elizabeth Dowd & husband John, sister-in-law,Geraldine Niemczyk & husband Walter, and nephew, Tom OBrien.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Stephanie and Teresa Magni, son, Steven Magni & girlfriend Susan Johnson, dear friends, Leslie Girand & Michele Graves,all of Springfield, many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews & nieces, great-great nephews & nieces, and many dear friends.
Her family would like to thank Bear Mountain of West Springfield, Chapin Center of Springfield, Mercy Adult Day Care of Westfield, and Springfield Senior Services for the care they gave to Helen.
They would also like to thank the many friends and family members who helped care for Helen throughout her final years.
Please come share a memory and say goodbye to a wonderful lady on Friday, June 9, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Helens funeral will begin Saturday, 8:30a.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service beginning at 9:00 a.m., proceeding to her burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
