Helen Savoia

Helen I. Savoia, age 97, of Lawrence Park, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025. She was born in North East on February 16, 1928, daughter of the late E. Herbert and Hazel Brockway.

Helen was a graduate of North East High School. She married her husband, Dr. Anthony Savoia on September 1, 1947. She always jokingly said that she and the other wives of medical students received their "PHT Degree" also known as the "Pushing Hubby Through" Degree. Helen enjoyed golf and could be found playing league golf or with her husband at the Lawrence Park Golf Club and Treasure Lake Country Club in DuBois, PA. She was involved in the League of Women Voters and the POMA, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, where she served as President. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church.

Helen cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, always showing her love by sending cards to celebrate special occasions. She had a warm heart and was always ready to share a good conversation with friends.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Anthony Savoia; son, Vito Savoia; grandson, Louis Savoia; sister, Hazel Wright; and brother, Mike Cooper. She is survived by two daughters, Rosemarie Olson (Randy) and Theresa Divell (David); two sons, Gregory Savoia (Cheri) and Christopher Savoia (Patti); daughter-in-law, Maryann Savoia; twelve grandchildren, Shawn (Michelle) and Victoria Olson, Ryan Lithgo (Ben), Anthony (Anne), Joseph (Jenn), Stacey and Patrick Savoia, Calla Savoia-Kitts (Dan), Joseph (Rachel), Angela and Eric (Bethany) Divell and Joanna Enriques; one nephew, Eric Cooper (Linda); 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday, August 23rd, from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 12:30 pm.
