Helene McCullough

Helene Ryan McCullough (Smith), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedi-cated art teacher, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Bordentown, NJ at the age of 83. Born on September 11, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, Helene was the daughter of the late Hel-en R. Smith. Her presence brought light and joy to all who knew her.
Helene is survived by her devoted husband, John J. McCullough (Jack), with whom she shared 62 years of love and cherished memories. She is also survived by her loving daughters, Christine McCullough and Alicia Curran, along with her son-in-law, Robert Curran. Helene's legacy continues through her cherished grandsons, Greyson, Gavin, and Gage Curran, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
Helene was not only a loving mother and grandmother, but also a dedicated art teacher who touched the lives of countless students throughout her career at both Divine Word Seminary in Bordentown and St. Joseph's Seminary in Princeton. Her passion for creativity and her ability to find beauty in simplicity inspired genera-tions of young artists to explore their talents and express themselves freely.
Her love of art allowed Helene to view things in a different perspective than most, seeing beauty where some may not notice, colors, even when there is darkness. She shared this with her students, family and everyone she touched, opening our eyes to the unrecognized beauty and colors in everything and everyone.
A Celebration of Helene's Life will be begin at 11:00 am on Saturday May 4, 2024, at Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505 with. Father Martin Padovani officiating. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Bordentown Cemetery.
