Henriqueta G. Faria

Henriqueta G. Faria, a native of Praia do Norte, of the island of Faial, Azores, and resident of Watsonville since 1964, died at a local hospital on Thursday, May 22, 2025. She was 96.
Mrs. Faria worked at Colshire Pajama Factory from 1964 until her retirement in 1991. During her retirement she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, knitting, sharing her medicinal herbs with others, and spending time with her family whom she loved. She was a member of I.S.T.W. Society and Our Lady of Fatima Organization in Watsonville, a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and then Holy Eucharist Catholic Church.
She leaves her children, sons Manuel "Manny" (Alexis) Faria of Royal Oaks, Rev. Carl Faria of Marina, daughters Maria (Bruce) Burnett of Watsonville, and Angela (Alan Burt) Howell of Lake Tahoe, her grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, and Delaney Faria, and Julia Burnett, and Sarah (Ryan) Burnett-Cornwell, her great-grandchildren, Dominick & Bella, her two sisters, Ema (John) Silveira of Rhode Island, and Theresa (Frank) Vieira of Hollister, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Manuel Faria, her first born daughter Maria, and seven siblings, Maria, Emilia, Francisca, Izaltina, Amelia, Antonio, and Melania.
The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers, Tlayeli and Petra, her doctors, Dr. Melissa Lopez and Dr. Potkin, and the caring staff at Watsonville Community Hospital and Valley Convalescent Hospital.
A viewing and rosary will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm, with the recital of the rosary at 7pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 10am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watsonville, with burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery at 11am.
