Herbert Hagloch

Herbert Henry Hagloch, age 84, of Dover, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.
Born on August 5, 1938, in Northmark, Alberta, Canada, Bert, as he was known to family and friends, was a son of the late Sherman and Augusta Klix Hagloch. At an early age, Bert's family relocated to the Tuscarawas Valley where he attended Dover City Schools and became a 1956 graduate of Dover High School.
Upon his graduation from High School, Bert obtained a Bachelor Degree in Biological Science from THE Ohio State University. While at OSU he was a member of the first collegiate hockey team on campus. Soon after graduation, Bert was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed at the Dugway Proving Ground in Utah where his college education was put to good use as a member of the U.S. Army Chemical Corps. After three years in the service, Bert went to work for one year as a Microbiologist for the University of Utah.
On January 2, 1963, Bert married the love of his life, MaryLou Boltz. The couple soon began a family and relocated back to Dover where Bert began a 30-year career with Union Camp at Dover and retired as the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor.
Retirement didn't last long for Bert as he and MaryLou set out on a 17-year adventure as BML Trucking. The couple became owner/operators of their own semi, working as contractors for Landstar. As a team, the couple became members of the Million Mile Driver Club and were afforded opportunities to visit countless military bases and see the sights of many national parks throughout the country.
When not working, Bert enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He loved caring for his rose garden and keeping his lawn perfectly mowed.
In addition to his wife, Bert is survived by three sons, Jeff Hagloch of Indiana, Jon (Kerri) Hagloch of Michigan, and Dr. Jay (Julissa) Hagloch of Florida; three grandsons, Hunter and Mason Hagloch and Sebastian Hagloch; a brother, Elmer Hagloch of Utah and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Lloyd Hagloch, and a sister, Alice Klein.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the Dover Burial Park on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11 AM. Following the service, guests are invited to join the family for a luncheon in the Hospitality Room of the Dover Geib Center.
