Howard Hester "Boots" Clayton, 94, of Roxboro, died Friday, December 6th, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Caswell County, Mr. Clayton was the son of the late James Henry Clayton and Minnie Bohannon Clayton, and husband of the late Bobbie Jean Walker Clayton. He was also proceeded in death by his son Steven Howard Clayton, four brothers Carlton Clayton, Linwood Clayton, Lester Clayton, and Aubrey Clayton, one sister Evelyn C. Overby.
Mr. Clayton was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Clayton was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Ca Vel Baptist Church. He enjoyed his job being a forman at Crown Aluminum, formally Hunter Douglas and later becoming Alsco Corporation where he retired. Mr. Clayton also loved woodworking and working in the yard.
Mr. Clayton is survived by his son Keith Clayton (Grace Stewart), his daughter Amy Clayton Long (Linn) and his daughter-in-law Terry Clayton, three grandchildren Brittni Myers, Kacey Clayton, and Samantha Clayton. Four great-grandchildren Levi Paul, Addison Martin, Madi-Lynn Drumwright, and Lakyn Drumwright.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12th, in the Brooks and White Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (1pm-2pm). The Rev. Herbert Brown will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Mike Clayton, Neil Clayton, Rod Clayton, Jason Clayton, John Myers and Charlie Daniel.
