Howard R. Holland, Jr., 100, of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth, IN.
Howard was born on April 29, 1925 to Howard and Gertrude Holland in East Chicago, IN. He graduated from high school in Gary, IN, and earned his BA from Purdue University. He resided in Plymouth, IN for 28 years. He married Catherine (Lewis) Blissmer on November 15, 2005 and they enjoyed a good life together until her passing on May 29, 2021. He served in the United States Navy Air Corp. He worked as an engineer in industrial sales and in real estate for Lighthouse Reality in Hammond, IN. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed photography, both as a hobby and while he was in the Navy Air Corp, fishing, and working out and visiting with friends at LifePlex.
Howard is survived by his stepdaughters: Susan (Emerick) Hrabrich of Winamac, IN; Gerianne (Eddie) Bell of Chesterton, IN; and Sandra Thomas of Plymouth, IN; his stepsons: Jon (Kay) Blissmer of Valparaiso, IN; Kevin Blissmer of Plymouth, IN; and Todd (Deb) Blissmer of Highland, IN; and several step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gertrude Holland; his wife, Catherine Blissmer Holland; and 2 brothers.
Cremation has been chosen, and no services are scheduled.
