With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Irene Sprague (nee Hoffman), who left this world on September 29, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on October 15, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Robert Hoffman and Florence Kropf, Irene grew into a woman known for her intelligence, reliability, generosity, and dedication. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

Irene was a woman of many talents, but her greatest strength was her ability to connect with people. She worked tirelessly as an Office Clerk in the utilities sector, where her colleagues admired her for her work ethic and dedication. Her previous residence was in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, a place she held dear to her heart. Irene carried a deep love for animals, often rescuing and feeding stray dogs and cats. Her kind and generous spirit extended to everyone she met, and her memory will be cherished by those whose lives she touched.

Irene was a devout Catholic for many years, and her life exemplified the teachings of her faith. One of her favorite verses was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Irene's unwavering faith was a testament to her strength and perseverance.

She is survived by her loving niece Katrina Chadwick, and her sisters, Diane Fields, Janet Giacomini, Connie Vlachos, and her brother Bob Hoffman. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hoffman and Florence Kropf, her brother Albert, and her sister Jean.

We invite you to celebrate Irene's life by sharing your memories and photos on her memorial page. Irene's story is one of love, dedication, and generosity. As we remember her, let's honor her memory by living out these values in our own lives.
