Isaac “Bill” Cleveland Toney, 78, of Oak Hill, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at CAMC Memorial surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 15, 1947, at Toney Holler, he was the son of the late Charles “Simon” Hayden and Dana Wilma (Smith) Toney.
Isaac was a former coalminer, a member of UMWA, and retired from the Fayette County Board of Education. In his leisure, he enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, and attending church at the Dothan Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Shelby Jean Wiley; and two brothers, Fred Toney and Samuel Toney.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Arlene Toney; daughter, Shannon Kay Butcher and her husband, Mack of Logan; son, Jerry Dewayne Toney of Oak Hill; three sisters, Charlotte Williams and her husband, Dorsey of Oak Hill, Wilda Hall and her husband, Steve of Kentucky, and Jan Lou Kirk of Oak Hill; three brothers, Preston “Barlow” Toney and his wife, Melinda of Oak Hill, Charles Albert Toney and his wife, Dawn of North Carolina, and Marty Toney of Beckley; two grandchildren, McKenzie Snuffer and her husband, Christian and Bryce Watkins; and one great grandson who was PawPaw’s buddy, Rhett Snuffer.
Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Pastor Lum Toney officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Toney, Bryce Watkins, Christian Snuffer, Jeremy Richmond, Travis Crites, and Mack Butcher.
