Jack F. Slivka, 88, a 61-year resident of Glenview, passed away surrounded by his family on February 28, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Slivka; loving father of Greg (Mary) Slivka and John (Nancy) Slivka; cherished grandfather of Danielle (Ryan) Stade, Stephanie (the late John) Nickas, Cody (Oliva) Slivka and John (Jordyn) Slivka; proud great grandfather of Alexandra Nickas, Kinsley Stade, Kennedy Nickas and Harper Stade; he was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Slivka and sister, Olga Slivka.
Jack was a retired Commander for the Glenview Police for 38 years. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy in 1980. Jack's favorite thing was to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at the family farm in Central Illinois. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 4 to 8 pm at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview. Visitation will also be held Thursday, March 6 at 9:00 -9:30 am at the funeral home and then processing to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St., Glenview for Funeral Mass at 10 am. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Journey Care Hospice (Addus Hope Foundation).

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Jack. I was at and have movies of their wedding. Barbara was my cousin and the one thing I will always remember about Jack is that he had the kindest smile. Greg and I share the same birth date. God's blessing to all his family.
