Jacqueline Larabee, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this earthly realm on September 26, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy-seven. Born on February 18, 1948, in Okeene, Oklahoma, Jacqueline’s journey through life was characterized by her unwavering devotion to family, her nurturing, and her passionate interests.
A graduate of John Marshall High School, Jacqueline continued her education at Oklahoma City University. It was during her professional years at the Maryland Casualty Company that she first crossed paths with her future husband, J.V. Larabee. This fortuitous encounter blossomed into a lifelong partnership, culminating in their marriage on July 15, 1972. Together, they forged a peaceful and joyous home, raising two sons with love and guidance—Jason and James Larabee. Jacqueline’s legacy is carried on through her cherished grandchildren, Jaden Larabee and Heidi Larabee, whose spirits she enlivened with her warmth and affection.
Throughout her life, Jackie poured her heart into her family creating a sanctuary that was both loving and supportive. She loved to express her nurturing, creative personality through crafts and cooking. She was always experimenting with new recipes while making sure her children and grandchildren learned old family recipes. She loved to show off her flower garden and fondly remember her kittens. She was always excited to watch a movie with her grandchildren particularly if the movie’s main character was a talking animal.
Jackie is survived by her dear husband, J.V. Larabee; her sons, Jason and James; her grandchildren, Jaden and Heidi; her brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Colleen Marcy; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tinker and Jerry Ann Larabee. She was preceded in death by her father, E.A. Marcy, and her mother, Katherine R. Laubach.
A memorial service celebrating Jacqueline's remarkable life will be held on October 10, 2025, at May Ave - Smith & Kernke Funeral Homes & Crematory in Oklahoma City. The service will commence at 10:00 AM, with opportunities for all to share their fondest memories and reflections of her love and generosity, culminating in a tribute to a life lived fully and with grace.
