Jacob J. Warner, 98, of Saylorsburg, passed away Monday, August 12, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Carbon Campus.
He was the loving husband of the late Margaret E. (Blakeslee) Warner. They celebrated 67 wonderful years of marriage together before her passing in 2017.
Born in Blakeslee, he was the son of the late Robert Warner and the late Martha (Wildrick) Warner.
Jacob was a hard-working truck driver and farmer for most of his life. He dedicated his time to working and never taking a day off. Along with farming and truck driving, he was an avid woodsmen and lumberjack. Jacob was a US Army Veteran and served for his country during World War II. He was also a talented marksman and enjoyed shooting and target practice on the family farm. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
He is survived by five sons, Jacob J Warner Jr. and his wife Karen of Effort, Roy Warner and his wife Cheryl of Bennettsville, SC, Gary Warner and his wife Cecilia of Effort, Ben Warner and his wife Sherri of Kiersteadville, New Brunswick, Canada, Joseph Warner and his wife Debra of Kunkletown; three daughters, Debi Puzen and her husband George of Senoia, GA, Jean Bonser and her husband Steve of Port Allegany, Marie Meckes and her husband Norman of Effort; a brother, Harold Warner of Arrowhead Lake; a sister, Helen Shafer of Pocono Lake; a daughter-in-law, Young Suk; twenty three grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, John Warner, and two grandsons, Joe Warner, and Jason Warner.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 19, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM with Pastor Ben Warner officiating. Burial and military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.

"A soldier of the greatest generation has passed away today." Jacob, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow war veteran. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
