Jacqueline Carr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home - Tidewater Drive Chapel on Mar. 6, 2026.
Jacqueline "Jackie" Carr, 75, of Virginia Beach, died on Sunday, February 21, 2026.

Jackie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Concetta E. DelGrippo Carr and Lt. Cmdr. John C. Carr. After graduating from Norview High School 1968, she attended Old Dominion University. She spent her professional life in the banking, financial accounting, and management fields, and as a director and president of the Tidewater Chapter Virginia Credit Union League for 12 years.

Jackie's work did not stop there. She served on the Board of the Virginia Beach Community Emergency Response Team (VBCERT) Foundation for over 15 years. Jackie fulfilled her role with selfless determination to help her community in events of disaster. She was an active volunteer on the committee for the Holiday Parade at the Beach.

While admired for her serious endeavors, she was beloved for her kind heart and playful wit. Jackie's infectious giggle and mischievous smile made everything more fun. Her tight hugs were the absolute best. Jackie spent her life loving and caring for her family, friends, and countless strangers. She helped without judgment, treating all with respect and empathy. Her youthful spirit brought joy to all who were lucky to have met her.

Jackie is survived by her beloved daughter Marian Greene Walworth and husband Gary; three wonderful grandchildren, Alyssa Gill, Tyler Walworth, and Alex Walworth; her siblings and partners in crime, sisters, Mary Ellen Clark and husband William, and Deborah Carr Rody and husband Thomas, and brother, John C. Carr; two nephews and a niece that adored her; many dear extended family members; and her cherished cat, Jake.

Please refer to Jackie's Facebook page for updates on a celebration of her life to take place in April 2026. Memorial gifts may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA, 3040 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia, 23453, or by doing any act of kindness for another, just as Jackie did throughout her life.
