Jaime Ladao Syfu aged 76, passed away on July 10, 2024 in Evanston, IL. Jaime was born on March 2, 1948 in Cavite City, Philippines to Jose and Ligaya Syfu.
He moved to the United States and settled in Evanston, IL. There he met his wife Lilia. He started as a bookkeeper at Soiltest, Inc. and worked his way up to be the Chief Financial Officer. He tried to retire, but he always liked to work. Later he became owner of Lakeshore Medical Car Company and Pinoy Lechon.
Jaime and Lilia married April 17, 1971 and had daughters Jennifer and Christine and son Jay.
Throughout the years Jaime enjoyed family road trips, traveling to different countries, volunteering with the church and helping others.
Jaime was predeceased by his father Jose Syfu and his brother Dante Syfu. He is survived by his wife, Lilia; his daughters Jennifer Chornenky (husband Justin) and Christine Beecham (husband Jim); his son Jay Syfu (wife Shirley); his five grandchildren Cara, Lauren, and Sean Syfu, Katelyn Beecham and Alex Chornenky; his sisters Leila Geiger, Thelma Estrella, Corazon Fry, and Olivia Tanada and brothers Joselito, Conrado, and Oliver Syfu; and his dearest mother Ligaya Syfu.
Jaime was a deeply beloved husband, grandfather, father, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden, but he died peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 3-8 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Chicago Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL 60646. Chapel Prayers Monday, July 15, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home and processing to St. Lambert Church 8148 Karlov Avenue, Skokie, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
