Our father, James A. Hopper passed away peacefully at Sutter Roseville Hospital on

January 2, 2023 at the age of 87. Born September 17, 1935 in San Francisco, CA, he

was raised in rural Lincoln and graduated from Placer High School, class of 1953. He

attended Cal Berkeley, and proudly served 2 years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan.

He worked as a Systems Engineer at IBM for 30 years, retiring in 1986 and then

enjoyed his quiet country life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed

wildlife watching and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving children

Thea, Leslie, Bret and Megan, four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was

predeceased by his partner in life, Kitzy Ellis, his mother, Beth H. Hopper, his father, Arthur B. Hopper, sister, Helen

Kuehnert, and brother Paul Hopper. Per his request, no services will be held.
