James Robert Campbell

James Robert Campbell, 89, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. He was born on February 20, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of 15, James moved with his family to Texas, where he attended Edison High School and proudly played varsity football.
James continued his education at the University of Corpus Christi and went on to earn his graduate degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life to education, teaching physical education, history, and math throughout the community. His passion for learning, mentorship, and his students' success left a lasting impact on generations of young people.
In addition to his career in education, James was a lifelong servant of faith and music. He shared his deep love of music as a minister at various churches over the years, enriching the lives of those around him through worship and song.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Aartje Louise Henderson-Campbell; his son, Randall Lee Campbell; and two cherished grandchildren, Zachary Alexander Campbell and Sara Ryane Campbell. He is preceded in death by his two sons, Been Dale Campbell and James Phillip Campbell.
James will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and community. His legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held directly after at Mission Burial Park North.
