James "Jimmy" Scott Childs, of Barnstable and formerly of Mashpee, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025 at McCarthy Care Center, in Sandwich, MA, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.
Jimmy was the beloved husband of Tisha Childs, with whom he recently celebrated 25 wonderful years of marriage. Born on March 17, 1970, in Barnstable, MA, he was the cherished son of Howard and Carole Childs. He graduated from Barnstable High School in 1989 and went on to dedicate over 35 years of service as a pile driver with AGM Marine Construction, where he was known for his hard work and loyalty.
Jimmy was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and quiet strength. He had a natural ability to bring calm to any situation and was admired for his easygoing nature. A gifted athlete, he enjoyed both playing and watching sports, and his talent seemed to come effortlessly.
Above all, Jimmy was a devoted family man. He loved his children deeply and would do anything for them. Whether it was a call at midnight or an afternoon chat, he was always there when you needed him.
He found joy in life's simple pleasures-spending time at the beach with friends and family, attending concerts, and working on DIY projects around the house. He had a true knack for fixing things and was always ready to lend a hand.
Jimmy's warmth, loyalty, and love will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Tisha Childs, of
