James Cumper Obituary
James was born on December 5, 1936 in Sandusky, Michigan to the late Dudley and Merle (Kraft) Cumper. He attended Marlette High School, graduating with the class of 1955. James married Darlene Graves in 1961. He worked on his family farm before starting Cumper Yamaha Sales in 1970 with his wife Darlene. Their shop did so well, doubling their sales quota, that they won a trip to Japan in 1972. James was well known for his mechanical skills. There wasn't a machine that he couldn't fix.
James is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Micheal (Michelle) Cumper and Deborah (Mark) Holloway; brother, William (Carolyn) Cumper; sister, Nancy (Fred) Ruggles; brother in law, James Daily; grandchildren, Christena Holloway and Zachary Cumper; several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Beverly Daily.
The family will receive visitors from 4-8 PM on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.
A private funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Marsh Funeral Chapel with a burial to follow in Moore Cemetery.

Memorials in James name may be made to First State Home Health and Hospice or to the family discretionary fund.
