James Kenneth Curry III, 38, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
James was born on March 24, 1987, in Richmond, KY, the son of James Kenneth Curry II and Vada Annette (McCoy) Beland. He was a 2005 graduate of Turner Ashby High School in Bridgewater, VA. In addition, he attended Sherando High school from Freshman to Junior year. James was a loving son, brother, and friend. He loved being outdoors, especially going to the beach. James enjoyed singing and hiking. He never missed an opportunity to belt out a song for the enjoyment and entertainment of everyone. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. JK always brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. Most of all James had a strong love and commitment for his family.
He is survived by his parents James Kenneth Curry II and Vada Annette Beland, stepmother Alicia Dawn Curry, sisters, Gretchen Kathleen Curry, Lena Marie Ann Curry; brother, Joseph Frederick Louis Curry (Cassidy); grandmother, Garlon Ann (Curry) Withrow (James) and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
James is preceded in death by his grandmother, Deloris McCoy and grandfathers, James Kenneth Curry and Claude "Red" McCoy.
A visitation will be held for James on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 11am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will follow at the Shenandoah Memorial Park Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Omps Funeral Home to the attention of James Kenneth Curry III.
