Justin Allen Yancey passed away peacefully in his sleep the weekend of Saturday, June 15, 2024. Justin was found by his uncle on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the early afternoon at his residence.
Justin was born March 22, 1990. From a young age it seemed that Justin's only breaths were taken if he was outdoors. He craved hunting, fishing, shooting, camping and hiking. He loved animals, computer technology, writing and he loved to read. Justin loved ketchup, the color orange, Mountain Dew, Pokémon, and his pet rooster, Deebo.
As a young boy, Justin had several aspirations close to his heart such as to be a writer like John Boy Walton, both a rabbit and worm farm owner, the person who rides on the back of a garbage truck, and a computer scientist. Thankfully he chose the latter.
Justin attended Sherando High School, and in 2007, at age 17 he sat for and received his general education diploma. This allowed him to forward his passion into the world of computers. His last position was as a Data Center Engineer for LinkedIn in Ashburn, Virginia.
Out of everything Justin saw, lived and experienced, his two greatest and most genuine loves were his grandfather (Pap) and his beautiful daughter, Gabriella Sky Yancey.
Justin's Pap was his mentor and confidant. They were best friends in the truest sense of those
words. The love between the two was unwavering and should be admired by all.
The brightest star in Justin's universe was Gabby. He was a very proud father and adored the ground she walked on. She was always near and dear to his heart and his love for her will remain for infinity.
Justin leaves behind to grieve and share memories: Daughter, Gabriella Sky Yancey and her mother, Annell R. Wisecarver, of Strasburg, Virginia; Mother, Julie Yancey Brennan and stepfather, Christopher J. Brennan, of Stephens City, Virginia; Sister, Jessica Yancey Brill and brother-in-law, Wayne A. Brill, of Stephens City, Virginia; Niece, Taylar Skye Combs and husband, Bailey C. Combs, of Winchester, Virginia; Great-nephew, Axel Cole Combs, of Winchester, Virginia; Uncle, Jason T. Yancey, of Stephens City, Virginia, and Grandparents, (Pap and Nana), Thomas S. Yancey and Judy Clowser Yancey, of Stephens City, Virginia. Justin also leaves behind a large family full of Great Uncles, Aunts, and numerous cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held for Justin on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 11am to 12pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
