Timothy Michael ("Timmy/Tim") McGrane, Jr., 30, of Charlotte, NC was taken from this life too soon on August 23, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.
Timmy was born on April 5, 1993 in Winchester, VA to Timothy McGrane, Sr. and Pamela (Fletcher) McGrane of Stephens City, VA.
He was a 2011 graduate of Sherando High School and a 2015 graduate of James Madison University.
Timmy had a passion and zest for life like no other. He saw the world through a beautiful lens. His love and positivity ran deep.
He never met a stranger, always shared his love with the world and had an immediate impact on everyone he came in contact with. If you met Timmy, you had a friend for life.
He was charismatic, kind, compassionate, an exceptional listener, and always gave the best advice and life tips. Not only did he want to share his experiences with others, he was genuinely interested in their stories as well.
Timmy had a way with words that always encouraged and uplifted those around him while bringing light and laughter to the world. He was confident and undeniably true to himself.
Timmy loved being in nature. Having a passion for playing disc golf, he had recently made pro in the sport. He would reach out daily to multiple friends with a simple text of "tee time" to play the game that he loved.
He recently became certified as a Reiki Master and was starting his journey of healing & helping people.
Timmy was a natural talent who loved and excelled in all sports. He also loved playing chess and had taken an interest in woodworking, starting "Tim's Tiny Trees" in 2020.
Timmy was nomadic; he loved to travel and see the world and had experienced so much in his thirty years of life. He was free, embracing every step of his journey.
As one close friend described Timmy - "he could turn bad situations into positive outcomes and good situations into timeless memories. His days on this planet may have come to an end, but his impact and energy will live on forever."
Along with his parents, Timmy is survived by his sister, Stephanie (Brad) of Whitacre VA, his brother, Zach (Kaylee) of Stephens City VA, two nieces: Jenna Grace & Bonnie Lynn, one nephew: Barrett James, his maternal grandmother, Patty Fletcher of Winchester VA, his paternal grandmother, Jenny McGrane of Capon Bridge WV, and his partner, Shannon Chaney of Charlotte NC.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Jim Barnett Park (Rotary Shelter) in Winchester, VA from 12:00-5:00pm. Come by and share a favorite memory of Timmy and play a round of disc golf in his honor.
