James L. Dunmire

James L. Dunmire, 66, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Born November 7, 1958 in New Kensington, he was a son of the late James "Jim" Dunmire and Betty Rose (Palattella) Dunmire.
James was a 1976 graduate of Kiski Area High School, graduate of the Westmoreland Community College Culinary Arts program, and received his Journeyman papers from Northern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center.
He worked at various companies as a precision grinder, last employed by Oberg Industries in Sarver. He was also the previous co-owner of J.D.'s Roadhouse in New Kensington.
James was a member of the Leechburg School Board, and attended St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift.
He loved traveling the world, and was always an adventure seeker, a passion he passed down to his children. In his younger years, James enjoyed hunting and archery, and was more recently involved with day-trading.
James is survived by his children, James B. (fiancé Jaira Burns) Dumire of Natrona Heights, Sarah A. (fiancé Ryan Richards) Dunmire of Richmond, VA; a grandson on the way!; brother, Steven Dunmire of Vandergrift; sister, Michele (Gregg) Horrell of Kiski Township; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 300 Market St., Leechburg. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the blessing service at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Sciberras officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
