I worked with as a therapist Dr. Hageman at Meridell. I will always remember the amazing education I learned from him and being able to watch him do amazing things with medication management. He was an amazing psychiatrist and I was so heartbroken to hear of his passing. I was a straight shooter and could make me laugh on some hardest days. I will greatly miss such a wonderful teacher.

The first meeting I, a patient of his, had with him, made me feel safe, respected, and like my needs were valued. He spoke and acted in a calm, soothing manner, and there was something about him that made you know that you were in good hands. He had so much to offer to this world, and he was stolen from me, his family, and his other patients. I wish nothing but the best for him, his family, and all of his patients. My family learned of his passing roughly 2 weeks later, and we were unfortunately unable to attend the memorial service. Thank you for everything, Dr. Hageman. Goodbye.

I had planned to attend the funeral but the parking lot was full so I will just write a note. Jay was a good doctor, but I believe he was even better man. He seemed to balance work and family as well or better than most doctors I knew. His smile and pleasant demeanor could brighten a bad day! ionly worked with him a short time at Meridell, but I enjoyed meeting him and has wife at TSCAP MEETINGS. I know you will miss him more than words can express. He died too soon! My sympathies to all his family.
