James “Jim” Grayson Shehan, 72, of Marion, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at McDowell Hospital.
Jim was born in McDowell County, NC, on June 29, 1951, to the late Charles Lee Shehan and Margaret Anne Smith Shehan. Jim was of Christian faith and was very proud of his Cherokee heritage. Jim was a hard worker and was always available to help anyone in need. He was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. Most of all, he loved and adored his family. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Shehan; a brother, Charles Shehan, Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Shehan Ferguson.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Katherine Schoenen and Jamie Bryant (David); a step son, Jack Buchanan; three sisters, Linda Robinson (Robert), Barbara Holden (Paul), and Lora Bohon (John); two grandsons, William Bryant (Hunter) and Adam Bryant (Brianna); a great grandson, Maxton Bryant; and a sister-in-law, Gwen McCarson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. No formal visitation will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses.
