James Kreiger Obituary

He was born May 13, 1930, in Massillon, the son of the late Roy J. and Myrtle (Kipfer) Kreiger.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Braine during Korean Conflict.
He served on the Massillon Police Department as a motorcycle patrolman and retired from Dominion East Ohio Gas.
He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, VFW, Canton Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame, F.O.E., and a charter member of the West Side Athletic Club.
James is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Bendure; son and daughter-in-law, Karl "Jay" (Melissa) Kreiger; daughter, Karen Weiss; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly (Kenneth) Girts; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Phyllis Kreiger; sister, Beverly Farrenkopf; brother, Jerry Kreiger; and son-in-law, Craig Weiss.
Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. His final place of rest will be Rose Hill Cemetery.
