James D. Mannix, age 72, of Cold Springs, Nevada, passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2025. Born on October 20, 1952, James was a creative soul, a dedicated inventor, and a proud veteran. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, nurturing his garden, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and fishing on his boat. Notably, James was a twin, born shortly after his sister, Therese. He is survived by his siblings, Robert, Therese, Daniel, and Stephen, and was a cherished uncle. He will be placed at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on March 13th.

I knew Jim when I lived next door to him, with Herb. We shared recipes and meals on several occasions and I enjoyed his easy-going company --and his recipes--very much. His home, like Herb's, was always spotless and meticulously decorated and we enjoyed his stories of how he acquired certain pieces. He will be very missed when I go back to visit Herb. Rest in peace my friend.

I will miss my friend and neighbor Jim. As an extraordinary fan of tennis, may he have an eternal courtside seat to the big gig in the sky.
