James Michel was born in Akron on September 24, 1949, he grew up in Firestone Park and graduated from Garfield High School. He was a proud veteran of "The Big Red One." He retired after 39 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
Jim loved to laugh and passed on his 'sense of humor' to his three sons.
Calling hours will be 3:00pm to 6:00pm on August 20th, 2025 at The Hummel Funeral Home located at 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, OH 44304.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s's Hospital or The Alzheimer's Association.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Anne and Gil Michel, BIL's John and Jack White, nephew Aaron White, and dear friend Gary (Jer) Abbott.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years Jeanette (nee White), sons: Gabe (Jenn), Nate (Jenny), Seth Michel & Kelly Hendrick, daughter: Janis Michel
Grandchildren: Ethan Estes, Kamryn, Libby, Lilly, Sophia, Kara, Ella, Maddix and Nolan Michel.
Siblings: Barbara & Ted Ohls, Bernie Michel & Barb Robbins, Carolyn & John Bojo, Larry & Chris Michel, Marian & Rob Olsen, Joanne & Ed May, John Michel, Jim & Mary White, Judie Svoboda, Wayne Svoboda, Linda White, and dear friend Darlene Abbott.
