While stationed at Kelly AFB, I remember a day returning from lunch to see an officer calling to me from across a park area on base. It took me a second to recognize a friend that I hadn't seen in several years since OTS at Lackland. Jim was back from Vietnam, had been working on oil rigs off the coast near Houston and I never found out what brought him to Kelly. But we spent the next day with Jim entertaining us with his Vietnam stories. I mentioned elsewhere that Jim was a childhood friend and so on. What I did not mention was that he was probably the most intuitive, funny and intelligent person I ever knew.

Correction--that reunion was in 1994!

Jim and I were math/physics majors and fraternity brothers at Rollins and last saw each other at our 25th reunion in 1990. He was very bright, quick-witted and loads of fun. I am very sorry that I never got to see him again.

You were a great brother, friend and mentor throughout my life. Will always remember you for your humor, intelligence and basically my best friend growing up. Miss you Jim, always will. Hope you are in a much better place free of pain and suffering. Will always love you dearly !

He was a childhood friend, college buddy, Air Force chum, and the best storyteller that I ever knew. Bless you Mary.
