James Hurston Moore

James Hurston Moore, age 18, much loved son of Cheryl Lynn Moore and the late Jay Hurston Moore, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 29, 2023 after a long battle with anxiety and depression.
James was born in Salisbury, MD and completed his high school education in June 2023. He attended Asbury Child Development Center, Snow Hill Christian Nursery School, Holly Grove Christian School and was also home schooled.
He is survived by his mother, his grandparents, James and Beulah Bonneville; his great aunts and uncles, Leland G. and Shelby Jean Bonneville, Clarence and Mary Lowman, Kenny and Pat Moore, Ronnie and Joanne Moore, Ricky and Dee Moore, Michael Moore, Lois McAllister, and Raymond Baker; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Rose Moore.
James accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and strived to follow Him as Lord. James was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in the youth group, serving in children's worship, ushering, church work days and local mission activities.
James enjoyed many long distance trips with his mom and grandparents visiting Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Wyoming, Maine, Canada, etc, and almost every Civil War site in the country.
He was a serious history buff and could instruct anyone on Roman and Civil War history in particular. He enjoyed Star Wars, Legos, sharks and his Xbox and many other activities with his parents and grandparents.
Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1514 Old Ocean City Road, Salisbury, MD, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Andrew Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.

James will be remembered by many friends at church and school, as well as a special friend, Lilly, who he regarded as his little sister.
He was compassionate and was willing to be available to his friends, day or night.
