James Michael "Mike" Nash

Services for James "Mike" Nash, 72, who died on Wednesday, July 5, will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, July 12, at Lacy Funeral Home with the family officiating. Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, July 11, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Mike was born in Olney, Texas on July 31, 1950, to E. O. and Marguerite Nash. Mike grew up in Woodson, Texas, moving to Stephenville to earn his bachelor's degree in Agribusiness from Tarleton State College in 1972. Mike raised and provided for his family in Erath County, capping his journey when he married Brenda Joyce Nash on December 9, 2018, in Lingleville, Texas.
Mike's everyday occupation was being a cattle trader. He thrived on cattle and the business of cattle trading. He loved time with his family, and he craved time solving all problems local, national, and international at the Jake and Dorothy's breakfast table with his dearest friends. Mike attended the Lingleville Baptist Church with his beloved wife, Brenda.
Mike was a quiet man who generously lent an ear to his story-telling buddies, and when he shared his few words he offered quiet wisdom, enthusiastic encouragement, and unconditional love. Mike adored his wife, Brenda, his children, Brenda's children, and all his grandchildren. And he made sure all of them knew he adored them.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Joyce Nash, his three children, Alan Nash and wife Miranda, Barbara Schipper and husband Jason, and Clayton Nash and wife Jana, his four grandchildren, Michael Nash, Matthew Nash, Lukas Nash, and Kaya Nash, his sister Ellen Grider and husband Paul, one nephew, Glen Grider, and one niece, Carmen Estep, his children's mother, Laura Hall Nash, and so many wonderful in laws through the Hall, Croft, Roberson, Schipper, Johnson, and Boucher families.
Mike and his family are grateful to Dr. Charles Cowey of Dallas, whom God put in his path over a decade ago to give Mike the gift of time to see his grandchildren born and grow, to Dr. Jeffrey Moore for years of expert care, and to Dr. David Boucher and CCS Hospice who ensured Mike's comfort in his latter days. Mike's family is forever indebted to the nurses and staff of Lone Star Rehab in Stephenville for caring for Daddy in his final three weeks, making their place of calling a home for the Nash family and tending to Mike and us as if we were their family.
Memorials may be made to the Fosters Home for Children.
