James W. Patterson, 92, of Meadville passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Wesbury.
He was born in Greenville, PA on December 19, 1932, the son of Stewart Patterson and Eleanor Hart Turben. He married Mary B. (Molly) Bickel on November 12, 1955, she proceeded him in death January 29, 2017.
James proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He attended North Carolina State University, Youngstown State University and Wharton School of Business and UPenn. James was an investment broker for Reed Lear Company, Parker Hunter and Patterson Financial Services.
He attended Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, Saegertown and was formerly active at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville. He served on the Greenville Area Rec. Board, Meadville Medical Center Foundation Annual Fund Drive, and Greendale Cemetery. Additionally, he was a former member of the Meadville Kiwanis Club and Greenville Masonic Lodge #290. James was a member of the Meadville Country Club and enjoyed many years of golfing and his friendships made.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kimberly Ann and her husband William of Pittsburgh and Katherine Lee of Meadville; two granddaughters, Megan Knox and Rebecca (Dante) Knox; a brother Ralph (Anna) Patterson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Molly of 61 years and his brother John Patterson.
The memorial service will be on July 12, 2025, 11 a.m. at the Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, 363 Erie Street, Saegertown, PA with Susan Slote, officiating, followed by Military Honors and a luncheon. Arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC. 581 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Meadville Medical Center Foundation, 736 Liberty Street, Meadville PA 16335 or Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, 363 Erie Street, Saegertown, PA 16433.
Inurnment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
