James Edgar Reese, 77, of Evansville, Indiana passed away October 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 27, 1947 in Evansville, IN to the late George C. and Verneda (Dierlam) Reese.
Jim graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1965. He retired from Country Mark Refinery after 40 years of service as a supervisor. In his spare time, Jim worked for his friend Kenneth Kuebler for many years. He considered his hobby as working. Jim served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, westerns, and loved horses. Jim was always busy tinkering and driving the countryside. He loved traveling to the Smokey Mountains and to the beach in Florida. Jim never met a stranger. He also loved spending time with his grandbabies, especially Saturday trips to Rural King with Brighton and walks, games, and playing outside with Alexander. Jim couldn't wait for election night and to Make America Great Again.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, George F. Reese, Earl Reese, John Reese, and Fred Reese; sisters, Shirley Carter, and Rosie Maebern; and step-mother, Irene Reese.
He is survived by his loving wife Shonece Reese; daughters, Misty Reese, and Jamie Buchanan (Andrew); son, Christopher Jenkins; grandchildren, Brighton Burkley Reese, Alexander Christian James Reese, Lainey Smith, and Jax Elbrink; grand-dog, Coco Jo; sisters, Sandy Riley (Allen), Linda Hornby (Joe); brothers, Leonard Reese (Jeanne), Charlie Reese, Danny Reese, and Roy Reese.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Pastor Glyn Pfohl officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Military rites provided by Owen Dunn Post #5.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the funeral home and from 9:00 am until 10:00 am service time on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, heart.org or P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

I´m so sorry for the family´s loss. His picture looks so much like a man whom I worked for in Huntington wv. At that time he lived in Ashland Kentucky , commuting to Huntington for work at a Boron service station where he was the manager. I just wonder if he was the same person. If so, he was a great man who taught me a lot about work ethics and being honest about all you do in life. If this is not the same man, then i apologize for taking your time.......again,I am so sorry for the family´s loss. Buddy Lusher.....Huntington wv.
