James Harold Rogers, 89 of the Atlanta-Talley Community in Columbia County, joined his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Harold was born December 10, 1935, in Village, Arkansas. He loved the outdoors, hunting and people. He cherished his family and friends, and they loved him. Harold and his wife Sue owned and operated Harold Rogers Logging since the 1970's.
Harold is preceded in death by parents, Irvin Goode Rogers and Gladys Lurlene (Boothe) Rogers; wife of 62 years, Carole Sue (Boone) Rogers; sisters, Maurine and Dude Burleson, Laverne and Rudolph Goble, Glenda and Ralph Goble, Nancy and John Bailey, and Marilyn Rogers; sisters in law, Dell and Bill Bolton and Shirley and Jess Watkins; and nieces, Teresa Crow, Tanya Pennington, and Sherry Lacey.
Harold is survived by his daughter Renee Smith and husband Tracy of Little Rock, Arkansas; son W.D. Rogers of the Atlanta Community; grandchildren, Drew Smith and wife Sydney of Little Rock and Ty Smith and wife Chelsea of Bentonville, Arkansas; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Suzannah, Natalie, Caroline, Kennedy, Tenley, and Rhett; and a host of extended family and friends.
Public viewing will be on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Lewis Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 am at Village Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc.
Memorial donations may be made to Village Cemetery Association, c/o 111 Columbia Road 439, Magnolia, Arkansas 71753.
Pallbearers will be W.D. Rogers, Ty Smith, Drew Smith, Chris "Tank" Ainsworth, Chad Burleson, and Mark Ware.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. John E. Alexander, Jr. and Kelli McWilliams for their care and comfort given to Harold.
