James Fredrick "Fred" Rowell, 84, of Seale, Al passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, July 29, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Rowell was born on July 1, 1940, in Rockmart, GA, the son of the late Hubert Denver Rowell and Eula Belle Dunn Rowell. As a young man, Fred was ambitious and determined to live life to the fullest. Fred obtained his degree in business from Jacksonville State University. He was the cherished husband of the late Wanda "Rose" White Rowell for 54 years, and together they built a loving home filled with joy, laughter, and memories. He was a devoted father to the late Donna Rowell Flores and Jimmy Rowell. His role as grandfather to Wayne, Joey, Lucas, Zack, and Nick brought him immense pride and happiness that spilled over into the joy he found being a great-grandfather to Aurelie, Malcolm, Abigail, Micah, Joshua, Josiah, Gavin, Norah, Olivia, Aiven, Millie, Paisley and Jacob. That love continued to a great-great-grandson, Robin.
He was the founder and long-time owner of Fred's Tire Center in Columbus, GA. While working with his brothers and family in the auto care business he left a legacy of customer service that has and continues to impact relationships across the Chattahoochee Valley. He was passionate about his work ethic and unwavering commitment to ensuring the family business provided quality service and a place to feel like the family he was passionate about.
Fred enjoyed traveling with his family, restoring old cars, comedy, playing dominoes with his brothers, riding his tractor, gardening, watching old western movies, and cheering for the Atlanta Braves.
Fred's kindness, wisdom, and wavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He created a legacy of love, integrity, and generosity that will continue to inspire and guide those he touched. If you knew him, you loved him. He was our sunshine and has found his place in heaven.
Fred Rowell is preceded in death by his father, Hubert Denver Rowell and mother Eula Belle Dunn Rowell; his cherished wife, Wanda "Rose" White Rowell; son, Jimmy Rowell; daughter, Donna Flores; sister, Rhonda Rowell Gillespie; brother, Denver Rowell; brother, Tommy Rowell; brother and sister twin infants.
