James John Scancarella

James John Scancarella, 64, of Clifton, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. Born in Passaic, Jim resided in Clifton all of his life. He was a 1975 graduate of Clifton High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Delaware in 1979. Jim was a commercial real estate broker and a managing principal of the Cresa Global New Jersey office in Rutherford for many years. Jim was a founding member of the Board of Trustees for The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation for Adult Autism. His 20 years of dedicated service opened doors throughout the United States for all individuals with Autism to their most fulfilling lives.
Jim was a loving husband, a devoted father, brother, brother-in-law and son-in-law. He was the "fun to be with" uncle and a loyal and supportive friend. Jim was an avid downhill skier and enjoyed mountain biking, traveling and swimming. As a fixture at the Montclair Beach Club, Jim was recognized as the "official greeter" to all who entered each and every day.
Jim was the guy with the infectious laugh and was always the life of the party. He will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, John J. and Clorinda Scancarella.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna (nee Sinisi) Scancarella; his children, James J. Scancarella, Jr. and Gabrielle Scancarella; his sister, Lynette Nelson and her husband, Bruce; his mother-in-law, Sandra Sinisi; brothers-in-law, Danny Sinisi and his wife, Elaine and Joseph Sinisi and his wife, Joan; nephews and nieces, J.B. Nelson (Amelia), Elizabeth Corvino (Robert), Olivia Sinisi, Lia Sinisi and Jack Cluen; grandnephews; a grandniece and especially his beloved dog, Cabi.
Visiting Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Friday 10:00 am from the funeral home followed by 11:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Private cremation to follow.
