James R. Speece, 55, passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2024 in his Oley Twp. residence.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of John W. and Darlene M. (Miller) Speece, Oley Twp.
Jim was a graduate of Oley Valley High School in 1988.
He was employed by East Penn Manufacturing for 26 years last working on Thursday.
Jim enjoyed WW II and Vietnam reenactment. He was a volunteer for the Oley Valley Fire Co. A Jeep enthusiast, he could be found cruising in his Wrangler playing Punk music loudly. He loved live music and concerts; most recently he drove to Colorado for a weekend to see A Split Second and PIG.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, William R. (Gloria) Speece, Meridian, Idaho and Deana J. (Robert-deceased) Bentley, Reinholds; two nephews, one niece, and one grandniece.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes or Oley Valley FFA. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is honored to assist Jim's family. Darlene and Family
I´m so sorry to hear about James. It´s just not right to have your child go before you. I remember talking with him at the old Kings pharmacy and when the fire trucks would come to school. Always a smile and nod when he saw me. My prayers go out to you and the family.
