Mr. James C. "J.C." "Tab" Spivey, age 90, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 31, 1935 in Horry County, he was the son of the late William Enoch and Ruby Hamilton Spivey. Mr. Spivey was a member of Bayboro Baptist Church and was a lifelong farmer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Lou Green for the incredible care and compassion you provided.
Along with his parents, Mr. Spivey was predeceased by his wife, Nettlease Suggs Spivey; an infant son, Jimmy Spivey; two sisters, Marjorie S. Rabon and Joanne S. Oberg; and a brother, William W. Spivey.
Surviving are his three children, Jackie Siratt (Tommy), Rodney Spivey (Debbie), and Sheila Cartrette (Derrick), all of Bayboro; four grandchildren, Julianna S. James (Paul), Reed Siratt, Ashley C. Gordy (Jeff), and Drake Cartrette (Lisa); seven great grandchildren, Joshua Siratt, Derby Cartrette, Grace James, Danny Cartrette, Jesse James, Lillie Siratt, and Ansley Gordy; a sister, Annie Blanche Rose; and a brother, W. E. Spivey.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Bayboro Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Loris Chapel from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
