James Willhauck Obituary
It is with a deep sense of loss and cherished memories that we announce the passing of James D. "Jimmy" Willhauck on October 18, 2024. Born on August 25, 1959, to the late Beryl E. (Gorton) and Francis A. Willhauck, Jimmy was a spirited soul whose intelligence and handiness were the hallmarks of his character. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend, whose presence was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew him.
Jimmy grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School in the class of 1978. He carried on his education by attending Northeastern University, where he studied Engineering. Jimmy was the proud 3rd generation owner of Jamaica Radio Service & Son in Brockton, a family business that he managed with dedication and expertise. His work was not just a job but a testament to his commitment to his family legacy and the community he served.
Outside of work, Jimmy was an avid boater, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time on his beloved Sea Ray, which he fittingly named Beryl Francis, in honor of his parents. He was an accomplished fisherman, reveling in the tranquility of the sea and the thrill of the catch. Every 4th of July, he celebrated our nation's independence by watching the fireworks from the Charles River, a tradition he held dear.
Jimmy's passion for life was evident in his love for NASCAR, the roar of the engines, and the excitement of the race mirrored his zestful approach to life. He never took calls during a NASCAR race! His hands were rarely still, as was naturally gifted and could design and build a variety of woodworking and structural projects. Many can attest to his ability to fix and create, attributes that made him the go-to person whenever a problem arose.
He was a man of faith, having served as an altar boy at St. Angela's Church in Mattapan, a foundation that supported him throughout his life. Jimmy's heart found its match in Maria Carmen Perez Roa, whom he met online from Cadiz, San Fernando Spain. Their love was a testament to the fact that true connections know no boundaries. Maria Carmen was his long term companion until her passing in December 2022, and her memory remained a beacon of love in his life.
Jimmy leaves behind a loving family, including his sisters Beverly E. Herbert and her husband Edward of West Linn, Oregon, and Rosemary C. Willhauck of Milton. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis A. Willhauck Jr. His legacy continues through his nieces and nephews, and one great-nephew, who will miss his guidance and presence in their lives.
Jimmy's life was full of passion, resilience, and generosity. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on those around him. His sense of humor was undeniable, making people laugh till they cried! He was funny without even trying to be! As we say goodbye to Jimmy, we celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the countless ways he enriched our lives. His vibrant spirit will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
While we mourn his absence, we take solace in knowing that Jimmy's journey was one filled with adventure, love, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. He has left us with a legacy of what it means to be highly talented and intelligent, spirited and funny, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered as we say "Hasta Luego" to James D. "Jimmy" Willhauck, may you rest in everlasting peace with our brother, Frank (Drew) and our parents, Frank and Beryl, and his lovely Maria, knowing you were deeply loved and your memory will forever sail on in the hearts of those you've touched.
